Bob:
I don't have a clue! embarassed I love taking pictures of plants, but I am totally hopeless when it comes to identifying them.

I asked my wife (my resident authority on all things plant) and even she didn't know! shocked She did suggest that it might be a weed, of some sort.....

Ron

thank you and your wife so much for replying.

My definition of a weed is simply "a plant you do not want".
Found many of these growing on my recently purchased home property and even before I knew they would flower I came to like them very much--love the leafs----their look, shape and texture.
And we have found many flowers growing here wild.
So, I like these and will keep them....so to me they are not a "weed" LOL.
But if anyone can identify them---I sure would appreciate it. I think it might be a Downy Yellow Violet...what do I know about flowers? undecided

I hope no one minds if I resurrect some of these old threads, but I am pretty sure that this is a variety of buttercup flower.

HTH anyone who is still following.
