There is a way to connect Sekor SX-lenses to Sony NEX without removing SX-Pin:

you need a Nex - Minolta MD adapter and a Minolta MD - M42 adapter from hama. This small adapter doesnīt effect the SX-Pin.

Hello,

I just bought Mamiya Sekor Sx f2 and I'm looking for solutions to mount it on NEX. I've done some search on a Hama m42 to Minolta adapter but they are hard to find and comes with the price. My question is... when you say the combination m42 to MD and MD to NEX (I already have and MD to NEX) is working the m42 to MD has to be a Hama adapter or any other normal m42 to MD? Will the f stops rings work too with this adapter?

Thank you.

All bests,
Andrei.

P.S. Great forum

Hoi hoi hoi... It was in front of me. What kept me from thinking was that I don't have yet EOS to NEX adapter but it's time to get one. m42 to EOS I have couple of them.

Thank you both for opening the gates for Mamiya SX.

I will post the results.

Beste,
Andrei.

Are there any M42-EOS adapter who donīt touch the SX-PIn? I have a couple of M42-adapters. All of them touch the pin. You might file the adapter to reduce the diameter to use it without problems.

M42 - MD:

this one should run for example:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/genuine-Minolta-MD-MC-SR-m42-P-adapter-/230916408425?pt=UK_Photography_VintagePhotography_VintagePhotoAccessories&hash=item35c3b0c469

or this one:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/162137-MINOLTA-MD-MC-TO-M42-UNIVERSAL-SCREW-MOUNT-LENS-ADAPTER-/380546335990?pt=US_Lens_Adapters_Mounts_Tubes&hash=item589a5444f6

the adapters need a small diameter: < 52mm

You have to block the aperture pin, for shutting the aperture, with a piece of aluminum foil for example.

Do you want pictures?

Dear Gerhard,

Thank you for the advice. If you have picture it could be great. I've sent you also a message on your email account.

I will try to mount via m42-eos-nex as slackadocious mentioned see if it's working.

If not, I will definitely go for MD intermediary. I already have the md-nex adapter.

There is also a good news and that is I bought another Mamiya SX 35mm 2.8.

Thank you again.

Andrei.

Hello,

I just got one of my Mamiya Sekor sx today. The m42//EOS//nex combination does not work so avoid it. The adapter is not completely useless as I can use some of my wife Canon lens.

I ordered the genuine Minolta m42//MD adapter... still waiting to be delivered. I have already the MD//nex adapter.

I am looking forward to get some pictures from you gewa13.

In the mean time I am really happy trying on the m42 mount Mamyia Sekor Auto lens. I bought an impeccable copy at a very good price.

Yes, I developed the passion for Mamiya.

Andrei.

Dear Gerhard,

Thank you very much. That looks great. I am still waiting for the genuine Minolta adapter to come.

I have so far two Mamiya SX 35 2.8 and 50 2. and one Mamyia Auto 50 2.8, all in m42 mount. I've put also a bid on a Mamiya Auto 50 2. but still waiting for the confirmation.

Thank you again and all bests,
Andrei.

Hello,

Today arrived the genuine Minolta m42//MD adapter. The issue with aperture ring is resolved as you said Gerhards. However, I still have troubles to block the pin. Looking at your photos looks pretty easy but I'm not able to push the pin and block in the same time. Did you used any tool or have you done something special? Or just patience and trial and error?

The 3D printed adapter sound interesting, I read some things on the internet. Is the material for the adapter hard enough to sustain the type of usage for manual lens? What will be the cost of such adapter.

Thank you both for offering solutions.

I have now 4 Mamyias Sekor, two SXs and two Autos.

Beste,
Andrei.

For the sake of anyone finding this thread from a search, there is now an adapter available from a distributor called Bokkeh that makes allowance for the pin, as well as works for most other M42 lenses. I see it on the EvilBay frequently for the NEX (Sony), and once in a while for XT (Fuji) and EF-M (Canon) mirrorless cameras for about $29.
