Hello all,
I went in yesterday to drop off my XTL and DTL 1000 for service with
Jimmy at Concept Lighting Inc. Didn't plan on staying long but once I got to talking with Jimmy time just flew by. What a great guy, he showed me his black DTL 1000, it was a real beauty. He was very professional and I feel very confident leaving my two favorite cameras in his capable hands.
If you live in the LA area he is in Sunland on the east end of the San Fernando Valley. I should have my cameras back in a few weeks and he promises they will be better than new. Can't wait

Sounds like a good guy. Do you know if he takes mail-in repairs?

Thanks Simon, now it will take longer to get back the camera and lens Jimmy is working on for me.

grin JUST KIDDING wink

Mr. Fujisawa currently has my DSX 1000B for a CLA, and a 135 2.8 SX lens that was NOS but with a little oil on the aperture blades. He recently worked his magic on my very first Mamiya, an MSX 1000, and a rare 85 1.7 SX lens that had fungus. Both now look absolutely fabulous. You will be very pleased with the results on your units.

By the way, I'm envious; he is apparently right in your back yard.

Tom

PS Yes Steve, he does take in mail in repair orders, thankfully, I live in South Carolina.

Tom,
He is and it is great being able to talk to some one who has so much knowledge and experience with these great cameras. I was a little in awe, he could have had a hand in making one of my cameras, in fact he was working on a DSX when I went in, probably yours.

Jimmy is absolutely fabulous. He's repaired some of my cameras, and they're beautiful!

I'm in Michigan, and sent the cameras to UT Photo (now Concept Lighting) without any problem.

Simon,

Just got my DSX 1000B and 135 f2.8 SX lens back from Concept, Jimmy is nothing short of mystical, he is an absolute genius. I now have two cameras, and two lenses that are in excess of thirty years old, but they look and function like they are new, probably better actually. grin

Tom,
Glad to hear your camera was everything you had hoped, Jimmy called me the other day to let me know he had started on mine. He told me it would be a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to it.

Hello all,
I picked up my cameras the other day and it's amazing, they are beautiful!
Concept LIghting Inc. did an outstanding job and at a very reasonable price. I would recommend them highly.
