Hi,
I'm such a newbie when it comes to vintage gear, and I had now idea about this gem. It was given to me by the son of a photographers longe gone and it's been in my possession since 2010, just sitting in its bag with its lenses. I used to work as a professional photographer and back then we were wondering about buying this guys house after both his parents died. We didn't end up with the house, but bought some really nice furnitures from the house and he gave me a load of old cameras as he thought I'd appreciate them more than the landfill (he was serious going to throw them out)

As I now have trades my canon DSLR system with Fujifilm xpro2, I came across someone using the mamiya lenses and the quest to find a mount adapter was on! That's when I realised what camera I've got! Off course I know the Mamiya from the medium format scene, and that was what's interested me in this 35mm in the first place :)

Would love to learn more about this camera and also how to be able to uses the lenses on my new xpro2 :)

All the best

Hello, and welcome.

If you haven't found it already, Ron's excellent overview and history of these cameras can be found here: Mamiya Auto XTL and Mamiya X-1000

A list of lenses and accessories available for them is here: ES Lenses.

A copy of the owners' manual in PDF can be found here.

I am not aware of any commercially-available adapters for this lens to other camera bodies. The closest is a series of adapters made for the Mamiya ZE mount, and although the bayonets are similar enough to share rear lens caps, several attempts to use these adapters with Mamiya NC lenses have been recorded in this forum with no success.
