I just purchased a soligor c/d f5 100-300mm lens for my Mamiya 500 dtl on e-Bay. My intent is to use this lens primarily for wildlife, specifically birds. Internet search indicates mixed reviews, but more positive than negative. I am interested in where I might find an instruction manual for this lens, and also opinions regarding this lens. Thank you.

I think I may have managed to answer my own question. From internet research, the lens appears to have been made by Tokina, who also apparently made lenses for Vivitar (Soligor lenses with serial numbers starting with 16 or 17 were made by Tokina, as were Vivitar lenses with serial numbers starting with 37 during this era). I was able to find an instruction manual for a Vivitar 100mm-300mm f5 lens, and from all appearances, it does indeed appear to be the same lens. So I think I'm OK in the instruction manual department, but am still open to opinions regarding this lens.

Thanks for viewing.
